Medical opinions and conclusions expressed by the American Brain Society and its members are in no way a substitute for a Physician’s care.
The scientific information and opinions expressed by the ABS are continually updated and peer-reviewed.
Very few things in science are carved in stone, due to the constant development of new information, differing opinions, treatments, and cures, together with different treatment strategies. There’s an old light-hearted saying in medicine which goes like this: “When you find two doctors who agree, it’s a paradox.”
As such, the medical information published by the ABS is gathered to be up to date, accurate and express different scientific points of view. The information comes from a nucleus of various informed scientists, as it must be noted that differing points of view between scientists are common.
Every effort is employed to ensure the accuracy of these different points of view. That notwithstanding, it is incumbent on persons using information from the ABS to consult with his/her physician before reaching any conclusions. ABS medical information and publications are not intended to be a substitute for a consultation with one’s physician.
The information published by the ABS comes from a wide variety of scientists, writers, academic centers, as well as the National Institute of Health. It’s important for users of the ABS data that all scientists are human beings and they frequently update and change their opinions and points of view.
